Student Accident Insurance Arrangements

Parents should be aware that whilst Vermont PS has qualified First Aid staff we do not have insurance to cover medical costs or transport incurred by students injured at school. This is a parent/guardian responsibility and the Department of Education makes the following statement: The Department does not provide personal accident insurance for students. Parents and guardians are generally responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including any transport costs. Student accident insurance policies are available from the private insurance market. These cover a range of medical expenses not covered by Medicare.
